Margaret H. Paget
Partner
Margaret H. Paget is a partner in the Litigation Department of Sherin and Lodgen LLP and co-chair of the firm's Employment Law Group. She represents clients in all phases of civil litigation. Margaret has significant trial experience before both state and federal courts, administrative agencies and in arbitration.
Margaret represents private businesses, not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions and health care providers, with a focus on employment law and litigation. She has lectured and written extensively for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, the Massachusetts Law Review, the Boston Bar Journal and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
Before joining Sherin and Lodgen LLP, Margaret served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston Law Department.
Prior to entering law school, she served in the United States Peace Corps, living and working on the island of Dominica, West Indies.
Representative Experience
- Margaret has conducted numerous trials, hearings, and arbitrations in claims of discrimination, retaliation, employment contract disputes and employee-shareholder disputes.
- Counsels and represents employers on a range of employment matters, including personnel policy development and implementation, compliance issues, disciplinary matters, hiring and firing, the conduct of internal investigations of employee complaints, wage and hour issues, and drafting and negotiating employment contracts.
- Represents a number of independent and parochial educational institutions in the greater Boston area.
- Represents a Fortune 500 company that owns and operates long-term, acute-care nursing and rehabilitation facilities throughout the U.S.
- Outside counsel to a 20-physician medical practice
