The JNC was established to identify and invite application by persons qualified for judicial office and to advise the Governor with respect to appointments of judges in the Appeals Court and Trial Court departments, clerk-magistrates, and Recorder of the Land Court. The JNC is a non-partisan, non-political and non-compensated Commission composed of twenty-one volunteers, appointed by the Governor.
