January 11, 2016

Boston, MA, January 11, 2016 – Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen LLP announces that Jessica G. Kelly, an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department, was elevated to partner, effective January 1, 2016.

Kelly assists clients in a variety of industries with complex business litigation, including finance, biotech, and national retail. She also assists clients in real estate title permitting and environmental matters, as well as disputes arising from the purchase and sale of property. Additionally, Kelly represents lawyers and law firms in professional liability malpractice disputes and disciplinary investigations before the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (BBO).

Committed to ensuring the less fortunate have equal access to justice, Kelly spearheads Sherin and Lodgen’s pro bono team. In this role, she has:

  • Represented pro bono clients through the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project.  In 2015, Kelly received PAIR’s Pro Bono Asylum Attorney award.
  • Drafted briefs amicus on behalf of the Massachusetts Bar Association and Boston Bar Association involving landmark decisions.
  • Received the MBA Volunteer Recognition Award in 2010.

In October 2015, Kelly was named a 2015 Boston Rising Star by the National Law Journal and Connecticut Law Tribune. The list aims to recognize the most impressive up-and-coming young lawyers in the Boston area. Nominees were judged on their development of the law, advocacy and community contributions, service to the bar, and peer and public recognition.

Kelly received her B.A. from Bowdoin College and J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. Before law school, she worked as a Victim Witness Advocate for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. She is conversant in Spanish and an avid marathoner runner. Kelly will be running the Boston Marathon for the Martin Richard Foundation in 2016.

Commenting on Kelly’s elevation, Sherin and Lodgen Managing Partner Douglas M. Henry said, “Jesse represents the best of today’s law profession. Her legal knowledge, client commitment, dedication to pro bono, and service to the bar are an asset to our firm and our community. We are proud to have her in our partner ranks.”
