Sherin and Lodgen partner Debra Squires-Lee named to the 2016 “Top Women of Law” list by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

August 1, 2016

Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen LLP announces that Debra Squires-Lee has been named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2016 list of “Top Women of Law.” This prestigious award is given to an elite group of women lawyers who have made important contributions to the legal community through outstanding leadership, vision, passion, and advocacy. Squires-Lee will be honored at a reception on October 27, 2016 in Boston.

Squires-Lee was selected for her leadership and contributions to the legal and philanthropic communities. At Sherin and Lodgen, she serves as co-chair of the firm’s Business Litigation and Professional Liability Practice Groups and is chair of the mentoring committee. An experienced trial lawyer, Squires-Lee concentrates on legal malpractice defense and complex commercial litigation. She defends lawyers and law firms in professional malpractice cases and before the Board of Bar Overseers. She also defends companies in “bet the company” litigation, including defense of trade secret misappropriation claims, complex contract disputes, and claims for violation of C. 93A.

In June 2016, Squires-Lee was selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. A longtime supporter of the Boston Bar Association (BBA), she has held several leadership roles. In September 2015, Deb was appointed to co-chair the BBA’s new Business and Commercial Litigation Section. She previously served as Chair of the Professional Liability Committee of the BBA’s Litigation Section. In October 2014, Squires-Lee was appointed by the Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court to the Board of Bar Examiners for a five-year term. The Board is responsible for examining the character and fitness of all applicants to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Scituate Animal Shelter, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter, since 2014.
