As an associate at Sherin and Lodgen, I have been given an opportunity to work on a wide range of real estate matters with direct client contact throughout each transaction. Client matters are staffed leanly, so associates work closely with the most experienced partners on all transactions. Associates are encouraged to seek out trainings, networking opportunities, and community involvement. The firm provides a formal mentorship program for associates, though it is not uncommon for several partners to act as informal mentors. There is also a camaraderie here that I have not experienced at other firms. Sherin frequently hosts social events to allow attorneys and staff to get to know each other in a more informal setting. Sherin is a place where attorneys partner to complete sophisticated work while maintaining a level of respect and congeniality that is rarely seen in other firms.
I started my law firm career at Sherin and Lodgen after clerking in 2007. As a new associate, the firm provided me with encouragement and support to learn and gain hands-on experience. I was also exposed to a wide variety of cases and never limited to one practice area. Over the years, the firm has continued to enrich my professional growth by expanding my responsibilities and leadership roles, by supporting educational and training opportunities, and by helping me advance my business objectives.
