Overview & Experience

Caroline Woodward is Of Counsel to the firm’s Real Estate Department.

She represents owners, developers, landlords, and tenants in all aspects of the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, and financing (both debt and equity) of retail centers. Her practice has particular emphasis on the development and leasing of shopping centers and mixed-use developments, as well as the acquisition of land and assemblages for new centers, including the creation of ownership structures, joint ventures, easements, and restriction agreements for their operation.

Prior to rejoining Sherin and Lodgen, Caroline served as Vice President of Real Estate Law for Ahold U.S.A., Inc. and Retail Business Services LLC, responsible for oversight and guidance for the internal real estate law team and outside law firms, and providing counsel to the Ahold Delhaize U.S. brands including Stop & Shop, Giant, Giant Food Stores, Hannaford, Food Lion and Peapod. Caroline also served as Brand Counsel to the Giant Food Stores supermarket brand. Before joining Ahold, Caroline was an equity partner at Sherin and Lodgen, where she practiced for nearly 20 years. Caroline received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and B.A. from the University of Southern Maine.
