Sherin and Lodgen’s First Event in Providence, RI
Sherin and Lodgen held an event on November 5th at the Brown Faculty Club in Providence, Rhode Island to celebrate the opening of our new Providence office and to roll out the Professional Liability Group‘s new Outside General Counsel Program. Christopher R. Blazejewski, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, and Debra Squires-Lee, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and co-chair of the Professional Liability Group, presented the new program to members of the Rhode Island Bar, including several members of the Rhode Island Legislature.
An extension of the firm’s successful Professional Liability Group, this new legal service helps lawyers prevent disputes involving ethics, professional standards of practice and malpractice. Sherin and Lodgen’s experienced legal team serves as outside general counsel to law firms – from solo and small practices to mid-size and large law firms— providing real-time legal advice on a range of legal ethics issues. Clients have access to the resources and services equivalent to a large law firm’s in-house general counsel. The Outside General Counsel Program helps lawyers:
- Avoid potential costs and liability arising from conflicts with current and former clients
- Avoid time and risk associated with “muddling through” ethical requirements
- Ensure communications are privileged, confidential and not discoverable
- Access focused, experienced ethics and general counsel expertise
