Construction financing for the new <a title=\"Lowell Community Health Center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lchealth.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lowell Community Health Center<\/a> was no exception. The LCHC is scheduled to open its new home in the autumn of 2012, more than doubling its square footage and increasing exam rooms from 37 to 85 at a cost of approximately $42 million.<\/p>\n<p>Expanding community health centers must rely on federal grants, <a title=\"New Markets Tax Credits\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_Markets_Tax_Credit_Program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Markets Tax Credits<\/a> (NMTC), Federal Historic Tax Credits (FHTC), and federal construction guarantees.
