Since our last\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sherin.com\/firm-news\/client-alert-new-business-interruption-insurance-bill-filed-in-massachusetts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Client Alert<\/a>\u00a0on the Mass BI Act, the bill has been assigned to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Committees\/Detail\/J11\/191\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joint Committee on Financial Services<\/a>. The Senate Chair is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Legislators\/Profile\/JTW0\/191\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James T. Welch<\/a>, D-Hampton, and the Senate Vice-Chair is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Legislators\/Profile\/MOM0\/191\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael O. Moore<\/a>, D-Second Worcester. The House Chair is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Legislators\/Profile\/JMM1\/191\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James M. Murphy<\/a>, D-4th Norfolk, and the House Vice-Chair is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Legislators\/Profile\/CPB2\/191\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christine P. Barber<\/a>, D-34th Middlesex. As of today, the bill has 44 co-sponsors, consisting of 16 Senators and 28 Representatives. While the Mass BI Act is not on the fast-track, support for the bill and other government measures to help the hospitality continues to grow every day.
