Bethany A. Bartlett receives 2019 Client Choice Award

Bethany A. Bartlett, chair of the firm’s Renewable Energy Practice Group and a partner in the Real Estate Department, was recognized by Lexology as the exclusive recipient of the 2019 Client Choice Award for Energy & Natural Resources in Massachusetts. The 2019 awards pooled over 2,500 nominations from in-house counsel worldwide to recognize private practice attorneys who have achieved a new standard of excellence in client service.

Bartlett focuses her practice on transactional real estate and includes project finance, the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of both developed and to-be-developed properties, including land use, zoning, title and permitting matters, as well as conservation and deed restrictions for the preservation of open space. She has a specialty concentration in representing lenders in complex financing transactions, particularly portfolio debt financing for commercial solar development, which includes Investment Tax Credit investors and various state incentive programs. Bartlett represents solar developers, land owners and off-takers in negotiating ground and rooftop leases and power purchase agreements. She also represents debt lenders in financing New Market and Historic Tax Credit projects.

In 2017, Bartlett was invited to join The Abstract Club, an association of experienced real estate lawyers limited to 100 members in Massachusetts. In 2014, she was named a Top Woman of Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and awarded the Personal Award for Community Achievement by Acquisition International (AI). In 2014, AI also recognized the firm’s Solar Energy Practice Group as Best Solar Team – USA.
