Brian J. MacDonough presents at ABA’s International Labor and Employment Law Committee Midyear Meeting

Brian J. MacDonough was a panelist at the American Bar Association (ABA) Labor and Employment Law Section’s International Labor and Employment Law Committee Midyear Meeting on May 1, 2023. Brian and fellow panelists spoke on the panel, “Update: Employment Law in Benelux,” which outlined recent and upcoming legislation on employment law practices in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, as well as restrictive clauses in each country and compared them with the United States, where the FTC has proposed a ban on non-compete agreements.

As chair of the firm’s Employment Department, Brian handles a wide range of complex employment matters, advising executives and professionals regarding terms of employment, equity and deferred compensation, non-competition and other restrictive covenants, and terms of separation / transition. He has particular expertise in cross-border matters and is a trusted advisor to his global executive clients.

Brian is a frequent speaker for the London-based International Forum of Senior Executive Advisers. In Massachusetts, he has served as co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section, and as editor and co-author of the Massachusetts Employment Law Manual, published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc.
