Debra Squires-Lee, partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, co-chair of the Business Litigation and Professional Liability Practice Groups, was quoted in a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article entitled, “Snap judgments: Local lawyers react to study showing gender-based disparity in partner pay.”

From the article:

“I am somewhat disheartened. But originating clients often has little to do with merit. I know stellar female lawyers who excel in the courtroom and with their clients and who market well, who do not get hired for those big cases or who get hired but have to share origination credit. Change requires buyers of legal services to look beyond their usual firms/lawyers and affirmatively hire women to represent them. And law firms need to ensure women get the origination credit they deserve.”
