Partner Jonathan F.X. O’Brien chairs MCLE program, “LLC Liability & Piercing the Corporate Veil”
Partner Jonathan F.X. O’Brien chaired the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program, “LLC Liability & Piercing the Corporate Veil,” on December 2. Jon provided opening remarks and presented the session, “Overview of the Structure of LLCs and Corporations,” which addressed how to set up and operate an LLC and corporation to minimize the likelihood of exposure. The program also covered the factors and considerations at play when attempting to pierce the veil in litigation, and reviewed recent cases where penetration of the corporate form was achieved.
Jon, a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department, concentrates his practice on corporate law and commercial real estate, representing clients in corporate formation, contract negotiation, joint ventures, licensing, resolution of shareholder and director disputes, mergers and acquisitions, and the purchase and sale of assets.
The program will be rebroadcast on Wednesday, December 17 at 9:00 AM and Monday, December 29 at 2:00 PM.
The MCLE aims to keep raising the caliber of lawyers’ professional and ethical service to their clients and communities, by providing comprehensive and practical continuing legal education of the highest quality to the broadest possible audience.
