December 21, 2021

Joseph Y. Wang, partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department and a member of its Hospitality Practice Group, attended the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) Annual Convention, held this year in Washington, D.C. from Dec. 9-12, 2021. Joseph is cycling off of his term as co-chair of NAPABA’s Real Estate Committee, where he served for the past six years. During the convention, he and fellow committee members led the Real Estate Case Study National Monuments Walking Tour, presented in partnership with the National Parks Service and the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission (NCMAC), on Dec. 11, 2021. The guided tour took attendees to some of the most recognizable national memorials on the National Mall.

Over 1,500 people participated both in-person and virtually for NAPABA’s first in-person gathering in two years. The convention included speeches from Senator Mazie Hirono and U.S. Department of Labor leaders, dynamic conversations with former U.S. attorneys, an insightful panel of AAPI women in the federal judiciary, and presentations of NAPABA’s Trailblazers and Gala awardees, who were honored for their incredible resilience in the face of the pandemic as well as anti-Asian hate.
