Joshua M. Bowman presents at MCLE’s 21st Annual Business Litigation Conference on force majeure clauses

Joshua M. Bowman, chair of the firm’s Hospitality Practice Group and partner in its Real Estate and Corporate departments, presented at the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s (MCLE) virtual 21st Annual Business Litigation Conference 2022 on January 26, 2022 during a session on “Force Majeure Clauses.” Panelists discussed drafting and analyzing the language of the force majeure clause, using the force majeure clause to cancel or defer performance, when the force majeure clause does not forgive performance, and relevance of the frustration of purpose doctrine. The session also covered Massachusetts cases and nationwide trends as the pandemic continues. 

The conference shared the latest updates on new business litigation developments and important case law delivered by a stellar faculty of U.S. District Judges, U.S. Magistrate Judges, Massachusetts Superior Court Judges, and preeminent practitioners. 

The virtual conference will be rebroadcast on February 10 at 12:00 p.m., and February 18 at 9:30 a.m.
