Joshua M. Bowman to serve as panelist during Strafford webinar on claims of the frustration of purpose, impossibility, and other common law defenses

March 19, 2021

Joshua M. Bowman, chair of Sherin and Lodgen’s Hospitality Practice Group, will serve as a panelist during Strafford’s upcoming CLE webinar, “Commercial Leases and Frustration of Purpose, Impossibility Defenses: Strategies for Landlords and Tenant.” The program, to be held on April 15, 2021, will guide landlord and tenant counsel on the defenses that have arisen in breach of lease cases resulting from failure to pay rent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Josh and fellow panelist, Justin G. Weber of Troutman Pepper, will review the status of landlord-tenant cases that have used the common law doctrines of impossibility and frustration of purpose and advise on best practices when this defense arises.
