About Law Day in the Schools

Every spring, lawyers from all over the city visit classes across the Boston Public School system as part of Law Day, teaching over 1,500 students about the American legal system and giving them an inside look at the profession. Law Day in the Schools is one of our most popular volunteer opportunities and a great way for BBA members to engage directly with Boston Public School students and share their passion for the law.

Students that participate in the Program range from kindergarteners to high school seniors. The schools are located within the 21 different neighborhoods of Boston and draw a student population composed of diverse backgrounds. The BBA supplies all necessary materials and lesson plans appropriate for each grade level, and hosts a training where volunteers can get tips from the teachers.
