Electronic Hearing for the Massachusetts Business Interruption Insurance Act Scheduled for May 21, 2020

In lieu of a public hearing, the Joint Committee on Financial Services, Chaired by Senate Chair James T. Welch, D-Hampton, and House Chair James M. Murphy, D-4th Norfolk, have announced the solicitation of electronic testimony in connection with the Massachusetts Business Interruption Insurance Act.

The Committee will accept testimony from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Those wishing to submit testimony may use this Google Form.

Testimony should be addressed to Senate Chair James T. Welch and House Chair James M. Murphy.

Hotel and restaurant owners wishing to share their experiences dealing with business interruption insurance coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic should submit their testimony to the Joint Committee on Financial Services no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Please note that all written submissions may be made available to the public upon request.
