Sherin and Lodgen elevates three attorneys to partner

Attorneys David I. Brody, Matthew S. Cote, and Jennifer L. Ioli have been elevated to partner, effective January 1, 2020.

David is a member of Sherin and Lodgen’s award-winning Employment Department. He represents individuals in a wide range of matters, including contract negotiation and enforcement, wage and hour issues, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblowing. David is an experienced employment litigator; he represents individuals at trial in state and federal court, and in public hearings before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Civil Service Commission. In addition to his litigation practice, he advises executives and professionals regarding employment agreements, non-competition and other restrictive covenants, change of control agreements, equity and deferred compensation vehicles, and transition agreements. David is listed as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star. He also serves as Treasurer for the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association (MELA), and is a member of the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Labor & Employment Steering Committee.

Matthew is a member of Sherin and Lodgen’s experienced Real Estate Department. He represents owners, landlords, tenants, developers, lenders, and businesses in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions and leasing. In his national leasing practice, Matthew advises landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating commercial leases for office, retail, industrial, mixed-use and laboratory/biotech space. His energy experience focuses on advising businesses, individuals, and lenders in the energy industry in lending, acquisitions, development, and leasing of solar energy and battery storage projects, in addition to energy management agreements, licensing, and service contracts. Matthew is a Class of 2018 member of the NAIOP Massachusetts Leadership Institute, an educational and experiential training program that provides unique opportunities to network with industry and business leaders in commercial real estate. He is also listed as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Jennifer, a member of Sherin and Lodgen’s Real Estate Department, is a commercial real estate and environmental attorney with experience in acquisitions, development, leasing, and financing. In particular, she represents retailers, developers, and institutions on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including advising on environmental regulation and due diligence. She also advises industrial companies on the roll-out of primarily rooftop solar leasing facilities. Jennifer is a member of the NAIOP Massachusetts Leadership Institute’s Class of 2019 and is listed as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star. She serves on the BBA’s Business Development/Client Service Committee for its Senior Associates Forum, the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) Government Relations Committee, and the NAIOP Development Magazine Editorial Board.

These newly elevated attorneys received J.D.’s from top Boston law schools: David from Suffolk University Law School, Matthew from Boston University School of Law, and Jennifer from Northeastern University School of Law.
