October 4, 2017

Sherin and Lodgen continues to represent Boston Community Loan Fund (BCLF) in connection with permanent and construction loans for the development of charter and renaissance schools in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and New Jersey. These loans often include United States Department of Education Credit Enhancement benefits from a grant administered by BCLF and Historic Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit components. In 2017, our representation has included loans for the Brooke Charter High School in Boston, MA, the Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy (SM) in Cumberland, Rhode Island and two Renaissance schools in Camden, NJ: KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy’s Whittier project, and Mastery Schools’ multi-campus project.

BCLF, one of Boston Community Capital’s core businesses, has made loans totaling over $600 million to affordable housing developers and nonprofit organizations enhancing the lives of low income individuals and families. Their reach extends throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and down the South-Eastern coast.

The Sherin and Lodgen team, led by Douglas M. Henry, includes Bethany A. BartlettBeth A. Goldstein and Jennifer L. Ioli.
